The SXRD acronym stands for Silicon X-tal Reflective Display, its a new approach to liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) microdisplays, which are known for their exceptional contrast ratios. A layer of liquid crystal sits on top of a reflective surface. The tiny gaps between the liquid crystal cells allow very little light to pass through, resulting in exceptionally deep black hues and sharp clarity.
