DAVID BOWIE John Im Only Dancing (2012 UK Limited 40th Anniversary Edition AA-side 7 PICTURE DISC - John Im Only Dancing was originally released on 1st September 1972 on RCA as the follow-up single to Starman and reached number 12 on the UK charts immediately becoming a live favourite with the fans though it never appeared on one of Bowies studio albums. This double A side includes newly remastered versions of the original single version produced by Davidalone a t Olympic Studios on June 26th 1972; plus a punchier new take recorded in January 1973 with tighter guitar and sax played by Keith Fordham [often referred to by fans as the sax version].
