Specialized Airtool Flex MTB/Road Pump Prefer a screw-on pump head to a push fit? This is Specialized's distinctive take on the modern mini pump with a screw-on hose connector, rather than a push-fit lock-on head. This is a good thing because some riders just don't get on with push-fit pumps. According to Specialized, 'the Air Tool Flex MTB/Road uses an inverted camber design that allows for quick fill-up on mountain tyres but can still reach the high pressures needed for road tyres'. The nicely machined aluminium alloy construction gives you confidence you'll get years of service from this pump. The flexible hose push fits inside the pump barrel for storage, pulls out for usage. This robust rubber hose is permanently attached to the pump, so you'll never lose it. The twin-head connector screw-fits to Presta valves on one side, Schrader on the other. The Presta chuck is colour coded silver, the Schrader chuck is colour coded black, so you'll know which one to use at a glance. The screw-fit connection doesn't put stress on the Presta valve - as a wrongly fitted push-on pump might. The handle locks in place so it can't spring out in transit. Compact (20cm/8 inch long) back pocketable size. Only 92g based upon weighing a Specialized Airtool Flex MTB/Road Pump at Bike Co-op HQ in October 2015. Supplied with bottle cage boss bracket and bolts (you'll need a 3mm Allen key to fit this bracket) weighing 23g. The pump is small enough to slip into your back pocket if you would rather not add the weight of the pump mount to your bike.
