BERLIN conducted by LORIN MAAZEL Music For The Royal Fireworks / Water Music (1966 UK stereo LP with the first side devoted to the Fireworks Suite which had a memorable public debut involving misbehaving pyrotechnics & much panic in Londons Green Park in 1749. The second side is the familiar Water Music suite which is actually a collection of works written and perfomed between 1717 & 1740 for assorted Royal Water Parties held on the Thames. To this day nobody is a ctually sure how many pieces comprise the suite or what order it goes in so this is one interpretation.
