Better known as Lily of the Valley, Pieris Polar Passion provides year-round garden colour. The mid-green leaves are edged in creamy white with a glossy texture. In March, panicles of dusky reddish-pink flowers emerge, lasting throughout spring. These lightly fragrant flowers are a magnet for pollinators and are a valuable source of nutrition for early bees and butterflies. This bushy shrub is ideal for adding colour, height and structure to beds and borders. However, it also grows well in pots and containers and is perfect for brightening patios and other paved areas. Pieris Polar Passion is a low-maintenance garden shrub that needs very little attention to thrive. It may need some additional winter protection until established but is otherwise undemanding. Mulch in spring, deadhead spent flowers, and water during particularly dry spells.
