Description
Please Note: This particular bottle was previously part of a privately owned collection. If you require more detailed photographs, please feel free to contact us. The very first non-conventional photo Nick Veasey ever took was of an X-ray image of a Cola can. Since then, he has created some of the most memorable photos using X-ray imaging. His philosophy is: ‘Beauty is more than skin deep. By revealing the inside, my art speculates upon what the manufactured and natural world really consists of.’ This idea struck a chord with Macallan who want people to really meditate upon The Macallan’s six pillars: the six elements that make Macallan so special, and they commissioned Nick to capture x-ray images that reflect each one of ‘The Six Pillars’. The photo can be found on the packaging. This limited release focuses on the pillar of ‘exceptional oak casks’. Anyone who knows Macallan knows their obsession with acquiring and ageing their new make spirit in some of the most exceptional and expensive casks on the planet. Their Master of Wood supervises the sourcing, crafting and toasting of wood used in their casks to a highly-exacting standard. Macallan 12 Year Old Fine Oak - Nick Veasey X-Ray Edition No.4 - Exceptional Oak Casks is a single malt Speyside whisky, aged in a combination of three oak casks - European oak sherry casks, American oak sherry casks and American oak bourbon casks. It has notes of fruit, vanilla, spice and dried fruit and comes at a strength of 40% ABV. Its rich straw colour is driven solely by the casks. This is an extremely smooth and complex whisky of great delicacy.
