Description
The Billings 1/75 Cutty Sark wooden ship model is an accurate recreation of the real life tea clipper launched in 1869. This is just one of a great range of model kits that are available from us both in store and online. The most famous of all tea clippers, the Cutty Sark is today preserved for posterity at a dry dock in Greenwich. Built to transport tea from China, she was designed by Hercules Linton, whose ambition it was to outstrip the Thermopylae, the fastest ship of the times. When she was built, she had a length of 85m, width of 11m and displacement of 2,133 tons. This kit features plank on frame construction, laser cut plywood keel and frame components, wooden superstructure and decks, hull and deck fittings in wood, brass and/or plastic, mast and spars, rigging cord in various sizes and printed sails. It also includes full-size plan sheets and an instruction manual with English text. This wooden boat kit is recommended for the expert modeller.
