The Hornby R170 Junction Distant is a Hornby railway accessory. This accessory can be used in addition to any Hornby train set. Represents the type of signal used on the approach to points. The taller signal controls the main line. The lower signal can be arranged for a left- or right-hand diverging branch line. The yellow arms signify 'distant' or 'caution', and are seen prior to signals with red arms. These signals were often called "Splitting Distants" on the real railway.
