Description
Early 1995 where a majority of Afghan refugees were relocated in Peshawar area and the Pakistan frontier with Afghanistan, the idea of making rugs by skilled Afghan weavers to give a livelihood to the refugees was born. Soon after using the ancient method of hand spun wool with vegetable dyes became the obvious method of reviving the most popular finer Persian designs such as Tabriz, Keshan Mohtasham , Isfahan, for the newly made rugs in this area. We started using the intricate complex design and called them Fine Garous design (Garous is a village in Kurdish weaving rugs in north west of Iran) never compromising in the quality of wool and dyes, but simplifying the original multiple colours used, keeping the fine weave has resulted to extremely fine, hardwearing rugs in most desirable and decorative patterns at affordable prices for sophisticated taste in home decors.
