The holy city of Qum (Ghom) in central Persia near Tehran, is noted for its silk rugs which manufacturing began around 1890s. Usually, Qum rugs include a signature from the weaver or the designer, woven on the top of the carpet. These skilled weavers, use luxurious fine wool and Silk to make some of the most beautiful and incredibly complex designs of the highest quality. Patterns can include gardens, medallions or figural designs with plant and animal motifs.
