Description
This gorgeous print is inspired by the designs seen on coromandel screens of the 18th century. The original was painted over hand-laid gold leaf, distressed to give an aged, antiqued look.  The print is an accurate reproduction, capturing the subtle tones of the gold leaf and the precise brush strokes. The painting depicts a pair of cranes - a symbol in China for long life and and for enduring love and loyalty in a marriage - set against a blossoming tree on the shore of a lake. Available in three sizes, either unframed or mounted in a wooden frame with a black satin finish. The prints are from a collection by Diane Hill, a wonderfully talented London artist specialising in Chinoiserie style watercolours on silk. Diane uses a mixture of precision Chinese and European brushes, painting onto silk backed with rice paper to produce sharp, crisp detail and rich bright colours. The original paintings are digitised to create prints that are perfect reproductions. capturing each one of Diane's brush strokes and the lovely. soft texture of the silk.
