Apparatus is a New York based lighting design studio that fuses sculptural form with hand worn materials to produce objects that are at once time worn and thoroughly modern
The Censer is a luxuriant brass incense burner which doubles as a multifunctional object for alternative use as a candleholder for tea lights, as brass bowl, a vase or as storage
As an incense burner, smoke emerges from a hand cast porcelain dome and as candleholder the censer becomes a brass torch which emits a soft warm glow
Includes 120 incense sticks from a collaboration with Cinnamon Projects of NYC in 2 scents: 11 AM and 10 PM
11 AM is a sprightly mix of ginger, neroli, and violet
10 PM contains notes of cedar, iris, patchouli, rose, and tobacco
Porcelain-topped Censer is made of spun, cast, and machined brass with a stamped leather base
